UNIVERSAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTE, INC. BEGINS TRAINING AT NORWOOD FACILITY
29 June 2005 - Universal Technical Institute, Inc.

Universal Technical Institute, Inc., a provider of technical education training, today announced that the first class of approximately 65 students began training on June 27, 2005 at the Norwood facility.

Additionally, the school received its license to operate from the State of Massachusetts on May 25, 2005. This new UTI campus is planned to have capacity of 170,000 square feet of classroom and lab space on a total of 24.5 acres to teach up to approximately 1,900 students specializing in automotive technician training.

''The official opening of our Norwood campus allows UTI to further strengthen its market leadership position in the Northeast,'' said Kimberly McWaters, President and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Technical Institute, Inc. ''Our industry customers have strongly supported this expansion to address the strong technician demand in this geographic location.''

Previously, the company had announced that it was expecting to spend between $10-12 million on retrofitting the existing building for training at the new campus. This follows on the opening of a campus in Exton, Pennsylvania, in the Philadelphia metropolitan area in June 2004. UTI''s automotive industry customers include Audi of America, BMW of North America, Ford Motor Co., Jaguar Cars, Mercedes-Benz USA LLC, Porsche Cars North America, Toyota Motor Corporation, Volkswagen of America and Volvo of America. The Norwood campus will continue to showcase UTI''s commitment to providing increased value to auto manufacturers, auto dealers and other automotive technician employers.
