SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
29 June 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
WORLD champion Jason Crump has handed Belle Vue a massive boost by riding through the pain barrier.
Crump damaged his hand at Eastbourne on Monday but has vowed to continue racing. He said: ''I got some ice onto the injury very quickly and the swelling had gone down by Tuesday morning. I don''t see any problem about riding especially as the Belle Vue track is so smooth these days.'' EDINBURGH''S Ross Brady is to have surgery on his broken ankle sustained in the Premier League Pairs Championship at the weekend. His injury could hardly have come at a worse time for the Monarchs as they have a hectic schedule in early July with seven meetings in a fortnight. Now they will look for a temporary replacement for Brady, who has been their top performer in recent weeks.
