NOISY AND GENTLE REBELS: MOTORCYCLES AND MUSIC TOGETHER ON TOUR

2004 was a good year for motorcycles, scooters, music and young people: More than 150,000 youngsters came to join the ''Spirit Tour 2004''.

The IVM started this image campaign themed ''Return to Rebellion'' in cooperation with titus communications GmbH. The aim of the Rocker''n Rollers: To show young people that motorcycles today still symbolize a ''rebellious spirit'', even 50 years after James Dean.

And this spirit indeed materialized in the second year of the Spirit Tour. During the first six months of 2005 more than 55,000 visitors flocked into for example Hamburg, Herne and Neuhausen ob Eck in order to celebrate their return to rebellion with the Spirit Tour 2005. This year''s theme ''Viva la Mopped'' is a bow to the rebels of the 1950s and a challenge to today''s youngsters to creatively design and take their lives of mobility into their own hands.

The start of the Spirit Tour 2005 came off in Hamburg on April 4 on the occasion of the ''WeltTurboJugendtagen''. After a short stop on the occasion of the ''Deconstruction''-Tour on April 29 in Herne, 40,000 visitors got down to music and rebel business with the ''Southside''-Festival in Neuhausen ob Eck. With refined instruments and top voices bands such as ''Nine Inch Nails'', ''Flogging Molly'' , ''Wir sind Helden'', ''Turbonegro'' and ''System of a Down'' worked up enthusiasm and high spirits among the visitors who themselves evoked the ''Spirit of Two Wheels'' by using the burn-out-simulator, doing tryout-parcours, and watching stunt-shows and freestyle motocross.

The second half of 2005 will start with a real banger. On the occasion of the Skateboard-World Championship – Monster Mastership – in Münster from July 1st – 3rd, the Spirit Tour will attract fans on the first two days of the Monster Rock Festival. Afterwards the music rebels will build their stage for the ''Highfield'' Festival in Erfurt from August 18-21. Both big events will offer the whole programme just like in the previous year and in the first half of 2005.

Thus young people cannot only experience motorcycle live acts– a ''spirit area'' offers loads of additional shows and entertainment from breath-taking motorcycle stunts or using the burn-out-simulator via trial rides – even without riding permission – up to chill outs in the ''Spirit Tent'', for example by watching the film ''Best of Bikes Vol 2''.

After the big events in summer, the Spirit Tour goes on tour with attractive live acts and numerous performances in clubs all over Germany until the end of 2005.

Spirit X-Mas Tour 2005
