SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
27 June 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

GLASGOW edged out Somerset in a thrilling Premier League Pairs championship in front of a bumper crowd at Ashfield.

Shane Parker - riding with a damaged collarbone - and George Stancl outpaced Glenn Cunningham to secure the win in the final with Rye House claiming third. Parker said: ''It''s been a great day with the big crowd, great weather and a Glasgow win. It''s a superb feeling for everyone at Glasgow.''

DANIEL Giffard hopes Weymouth''s Conference League Fours success at Stoke is the sign of things to come for the Dorset club. Giffard played his part as the Wildcats secured their first silverware since the relaunch of the club. He said: ''You couldn''t have scripted it better and I''m really pleased for everyone connected with Weymouth Speedway. Hopefully this is the start of things to come for us.''
