PEUGEOT’S INSURANCE OFFER ON GEARED MOPEDS
27 June 2005 - Peugeot
Peugeot have reinforced their position as the best value European motorcycle brand with the announcement of significant savings on their bespoke insurance scheme for geared mopeds.
These 50cc machines give 16-year-olds an opportunity to ride bikes with big cc looks and handling but which have historically been considerably more expensive to insure than twist-and-go scooters. Under the revised Peugeot scheme, 16 year-olds can get basic third party [TPO] insurance from £195* and TPFT from £298*. This will make motorcycles like the off-road styled XPS-T (£2,199 on the road) and race-styled XPS (£2,499 OTR) more accessible to young riders. There is good news for scooter customers too. Increased sales, (Peugeot’s Ludix and Speedfight are currently both in the Top 3 of the 50cc sales charts), has enabled their insurers to review pricing. The result is an average reduction in premiums of around 15%. With prices for the Ludix scooter starting at just £799 OTR, scooters have never been so affordable. * Rates subject to status. Now 16-year-olds can insure real motorcycles like the Peugeot XPS & XRS Sport from under £200.
