NEW EDITOR FOR MOTORCYCLE RACER MAGAZINE
25 June 2005 - MB Media Ltd

MB Media Group Ltd, publishers of the multiple award-winning ‘Motorcycle Racer’ are delighted to announce that Larry Carter will be replacing Tony Carter (no relation) as Editor as of 2nd July 2005.

Having been involved since the virtual outset some seven years ago as both Editor and Publishing Editor, Tony will be returning to EMAP as Head of News for Motor Cycle News and Issue #74 of Racer, scheduled to go on sale on Friday 8th July, will be his final as Editor. TC will officially finish his tenure with MB Media on July 2 to honour the print schedule for issue #74.

Larry, who runs his own successful motorsport PR business, is a renowned and well respected motorsport journalist, writer and broadcaster, and is probably best known as ‘Scoop’: Pit Lane Reporter and Presenter in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. He has been a contributor to the magazine since 2001 and will continue to combine his existing commitments with that of Editor and is looking forward to the challenge:

“Racer will continue to provide fans and enthusiasts with factually correct and non sensational features as well as in depth technical articles and interviews with all manner of stars from the whole racing spectrum. The format which TC has evolved has proven to be successful and I see no reasons to change a winning formula although we do hope to expand the magazine over the forthcoming months to make it even better,” said Larry.

Tony added: ''I am very pleased that Larry is taking over the reins at Racer. To be involved with a publication for such a long period of time builds a pretty unique emotional attachment to both it and the readers and whilst it was always going to be hard to leave the Racer team, I do so happy in the knowledge that Larry has all the drive, skills and enthusiasm to take the title to an even higher level of success. I know that Larry and MB Media will improve the title and do everything possible to grow it even further by increasing its large fan base of knowledgeable readers. I wish Larry and MB Media every possible success and will now continue my life with the magazine as that of an avid reader of Racer every month!''

Clive Morton, Director of MB Media, publishers of Racer Magazine: The UK’s number one bike racing magazine said:“Larry joins us at an exciting time for Motorcycle Racer Magazine. With a huge increase in distribution for the title on the newsstands, an ongoing presence at many of the UK race meetings and the demise of its nearest rival we have a superb opportunity to make Racer a massive brand. With the global audience for bike racing increasing Larry will invigorate it with loads of fresh, new ideas. It’s great to have him on board.”

Larry’s first issue in charge will go on sale on 12th August and so far will include exclusive interviews with Moto GP stars Max Biaggi, Olivier Jacque and BSB rider Scott Smart amongst others.
