HARRIS BACK ON TRACK
21 June 2005 - Honda Racing

Karl Harris is looking to round seven of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Knockhill to regain some valuable points towards his final 2005 tally.

Following a frustrating round six at Croft, the Yorkshireman is determined to get his debut Superbike season with Honda-Racing.co.uk back on track.

Despite looking strong all weekend at the North Yorkshire circuit, technical problems with the Dunlop/BLD-backed CBR1000RR Fireblade teamed with the lack of a spare machine ahead of race one and an opening lap crash in race two left the 25-year-old unable to finish both races.

However, Harris has retained his position in the top six of the championship standings overall. Having finished in second position in the Supersport class at Knockhill last year, the Honda-Racing.co.uk rider is aiming for a strong result here this weekend. He is now 28 points outside of a top five placing, which is his overall aim for the 2005 season in the world’s leading domestic motorcycle racing series.

Karl Harris: “I quite like Knockhill even though it is not a favourite of most riders, so hopefully that will give me a slight advantage. At this stage in the series, it’s really important for me to finish every race and collect as many points as I can. I’ve got a lot of hard work ahead of me if I’m going to reach my goal of finishing inside the top five, but that doesn’t worry me. I’m ready to do whatever it takes.”
