POLINI BECOMES TITLE SPONSOR FOR AUSTRALIAN MOTOGP ROUND
Polini Motori continues to maintain its traditional link with MotoGP, and during the recent Gran Premi Gauloises de Catalunya the Bergamo-based company reached an agreement with Dorna Sports to acquire the right to be the title sponsor of the Australian round of the MotoGP World Championship this year. The Polini Australian Grand Prix is scheduled for October 16th at Phillip Island. Polini Motori is a world leader in the manufacturing of cylinders and special parts for scooters and for two- and four- stroke engines, in addition to a whole range of minibikes and minicross. Polini Motori has to its credit five Road Racing World Championship titles, three in the 125cc class (two with Loris Capirossi and one with Valentino Rossi), one in the 500cc class with Valentino Rossi and another with Valentino Rossi in MotoGP. In 2005 Polini Motori is also a partner of Fausto Gresini’s Movistar Honda MotoGP Team with Sete Gibernau and Marco Melandri.
