BIG CRASH RUINS DEMARIAS HOPE FOR SECOND WIN IN A ROW
19 June 2005 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG

A hefty fall from reigning World Champion Yves Demaria during moto2 wrecked all chance of the Frenchman taking his fourth consecutive moto victory today at Orehova Vas in Slovenia for round six of the 2005 MX3 series.

Demaria’s prang (he escaped unhurt) while in second spot saw the factory KTM written-off and meant a DNF after taking his third win on the trot in the first race. He passed team-mates Julien Bill and pole position holder Sven Breugelmans to obtain another chequered flag earlier in the day. The incident allowed Breugelmans to claim moto2 and the overall, extending his lead in the Championship over Bill who crossed the finish line in fifth position.
