NEW PEUGEOT WRC REPLICA SCOOTERS FOR 2005
22 June 2005 - Peugeot
Peugeot have introduced three new scooter models to celebrate their final year in the World Rally Championship, which they are currently leading in the manufacturers’ standings.
All three scooters are presented in authentic WRC livery and, like the cars, are fitted with Pirelli tyres as standard. Peugeot decided to offer a choice of three models to suit a wide variety of tastes, requirements and budgets. The TKR is a robust, fun scooter that can handle the rigours of today’s urban jungle and takes its styling queues from the off-road scene. It has an impressive specification; sports-type inverted exhaust silencer, wavy front disc brake, mono shock absorber with remote reservoir, rear spoiler, carbon-effect mirrors and aluminium footboards. Widely credited with starting the sports scooter boom, the Speedfight remains one of the UK’s best-selling scooters and has an almost iconic status. The WRC livery enhances its aggressive sports styling and it benefits from aluminium footplates and wavy front disc brake. The JetForce C-Tech is new to the WRC line-up and features advanced motorcycle-derived chassis technology in an award-winning package. Like the TKR and Speedfight, it has a wavy pattern front disc brake and the comprehensive dash has a carbon effect surround. Prices start at £1,549 OTR for the TKR WRC. The 50cc Speedfight WRC sells for £1,699 OTR (which is only £100 more than the standard model, for a highly distinctive machine), while the JetForce C-Tech WRC offers class leading handling and performance for £1,899 OTR. Peugeot drivers Markko Martin (Estonia) & Marcus Gronholm (Finland) are currently third & fourth respectively in the drivers’ standings.
