ALBERT CABESTANY WITHIN ONE POINT OF THE VICTORY
12 June 2005 - Sherco

The intense rain which fell the previous day turned out to be a determining factor in the outcome of the fourth round of the Spanish Trials Championship which was held near the Pyrenees city of Segur

The sections would have been very challenging to negotiate if they had been dry. Because of the wet slippery clay they were extremely difficult to ride and called for delicate throttle control. The Sherco rider Albert Cabestany drew the second position behind the less skilled Toni Bou; Albert would have preferred to attack the sections in the first position. Following Bou who took additional time caused Albert to be penalized two points. As it turned out these two points were the difference between first and second place, without them Albert would have beaten Marc Freixa by one point. Freixa benefited from the drawing by being the last rider behind the leaders.

Albert Cabestany: ''Knowing that I was penalized two points for time and that I committed an avoidable error in section one on the second lap, to finish second behind the leader by one point has to be considered a moral victory. We are working very well as a team and with this result I am only one point out of first place in the provisional classification. I have high hopes for the rest of the season.''
