BRITISH SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 15.7.04
15 July 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
RYE House have filled the gap left by Steve Masters'' injury by signing British youngster Jason King, who makes his debut on Friday at Somerset.
Masters is likely to be out for at least another four weeks with a wrist injury, so the Rockets have decided to make a short-term signing. Promoter Len Silver said: ''Jason rode well for Arena-Essex last year and was very keen to ride for us.'' SHEFFIELD are set to re-introduce James Birkinshaw to their team after he was dropped last month due to poor away form. Birkinshaw had been replaced by Shane Colvin, but the Tigers management feel that he will be able to make an impact on his return. Promoter Neil Machin said: ''James has a renewed determination and I had no alternative other than to try and bring him back.''
