EDINBURGH co-promoter John Campbell praised the character of his side after seeing them beat Stoke 46-44 in the last Premier Trophy northern section meeting.
The result means Edinburgh finish level on 20-points with Sheffield but the Yorkshire club go through on points difference.
Campbell said: ''It was a very pleasing performance and we gave it our best, but now Rye House can go ahead and stage their semi-final with Sheffield.''
