MONMORE Green track record holder David Norris is in line for a guest appearance against Wolverhampton in Arena Essex colours on Monday.
Norris, who has twice held the record, rides for Eastbourne on a permanent basis and returns to the scene of a well publicised bust-up with the Black Country club earlier this month. The Hammers have booked him as cover for injured number one Mark Loram and his appearance is sure to add spice to the Bank Holiday showdown. Arena have also been boosted by the signing of Russian Sergei Darkin, who impressed at Monmore with Coventry last season. They also include ex-Wolves Paul Hurry and Roman Povazhny. Wolverhampton promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''It''s quite a story to have David visiting us and, of course, he is the wildcard for the British Grand Prix at Cardiff. ''I feel Arena are a lot stronger with the signing of Darkin and this will be no easy meeting.'' Wolves will operate the rider-replacement facility for the injured David Howe who suffered a broken ankle at Peterborough on Friday. WOLVES: Mikael Max, Ronnie Correy, Freddie Lindgren, Steve Johnston, David Howe R/R, Magnus Karlsson, Kzrysztof Pecyna. ARENA ESSEX: Gary Havelock, Sergei Darkin, Leigh Lanham, Paul Hurry, David Norris, Roman Povazhny, Josh Larsen.
