SUZUKI ON JAPAN SUPERBIKE POLE

Team Yoshimura Suzuki''s Atsushi Watanabe set a new course record as he grabbed pole position for the fourth round of the Japanese Superbike Championship at the Autopolice Circuit.

The GSX-R1000-mounted rider took the position by 300ths-of-a-second from Yamahas Shin-ichi Nakatomi and Tatsuya Yamaguchi (Honda).

He said: ''In the last race at Tsukuba, I was obstructed by other rider and retired from the race after just one lap! But the Yoshimura''s GSX-R is very good and I am confident for good race this weekend.''
