BOS EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR HONDA CBR1000-RR FIREBLADE
26 May 2005 - Fowlers of Bristol

The enthusiastic team at BOS has developed an aftermarket silencer for the best-selling Honda CBR1000-RR Fireblade that offers significant weight-saving and racy exhaust note in a road-legal package.

The Dutch company has been manufacturing exhausts since 1965 and uses the absorption type of silencer, which produces a distinctive sound without breaking strict European noise limits. Every silencer is specially designed for the make & model of motorcycle, with its own specific inside diameter tube, length and damping material.

BOS pioneered removable ‘dB eaters’ 10 years ago. This design has now been adopted by most of the leading exhaust manufacturers worldwide.

BOS only puts silencers into production when testing demonstrates that there is a sufficiently significant power gain. If any adjustments have to be made to the bike, then jets or technical tips are included and the stainless steel inner tubes are an exact fit for each model.

The new titanium slip-on silencer for the Honda CBR1000-RR Fireblade is manufactured from Grade Two titanium and weighs just 3.2KG, a saving of 4KG compared with the OE system. Inside is a stainless steel inner tube wrapped in stainless steel wool and packed with pressure-resistant ceramic wool, offering excellent durability. The end cap is also titanium and the wraps are stainless steel for a durable finish.

The Fireblade titanium silencer retails for £325 inc. VAT and is road legal. Also available in anodised alloy for £275.
