SUPERMOTO WCH: RACE 1ST ROUND CAST. DI BRANDUZZO, ITALY

Lombardia/Italy gave a warm welcome to the Supermoto WCH. The riders had to be prepared very well, because the temperatures were above 30°C.

Reigning World Champion Thierry van den Bosch saved, after the pole position in time practice yesterday, also the superpole today.

Race 1 S2
Boris Chambon started his race from the second row – not the position he expected before. Even the circumstances in the first race were not perfect. The French missed a good start, crashed during the race and got passed by some riders at the end. Chambon reached finally the eigth position.

Race 1 S1
Strange world at the first S1 race of the season 2005: Superstarter van den Bosch missed the start and reached the first turn at the fourth position. Hiemer did a better job and attacked Delepine from the second place. During the first part of the race, the leaders had to pass slower riders and Hiemer crashed. VDB earned the second position, but crashed two laps later in the offroad part too. Hiemer got back the third place and VdB saved the the important points of fourth position.

Race 2 S1
After the fourth position in the first race, VDB promised a better result in the second race. Done like spoken, he took the lead from Delepine in the second lap; no chance for the following pilots to attack VdB again. VDB was gone! Lap by lap he advanced the distance and took the victory by 10 seconds to the second Delepin. Hiemer did a great job too and finished on the fourth position right behind Delepine and Lazzarini.
