03 April 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
KING''S LYNN have moved quickly to snap up Australian Ashley Jones in a loan deal from Newport.
Jones, 23, will deputise for fellow countryman Troy Batchelor who has suffered a broken arm which needs surgery. Stars boss Keith Chapman said: ''I''m delighted that Ashley can help us out at such short notice and I''ll be happy if he can do half the job Troy was doing for us!'' SCOTT Nicholls is expected to complete a permanent move to Coventry on Tuesday. Nicholls has moved to Brandon from his hometown club Ipswich and the Speedway Control Bureau have called both clubs to a hearing to set the transfer fee. The Great Britain test star felt the time was right for a move to give his Elite League career a kick-start after celebrating a testimonial with the Witches.
