02 April 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

COVENTRY joint-boss Peter Oakes expressed a feeling of relief in the Bees'' camp after their win over reigning Champions Poole.

The Bees had been without a victory so far but edged the Pirates out by four points in a last-heat decider at Brandon. Oakes said: ''We''re not going to get carried away but it was a tremendous victory and we richly deserved it.''

READING''S Chris Mills has escaped without serious injury after an horrific crash at Somerset on Friday night. Mills was taken to hospital with pain in his lower back but after an examination and X-rays it was confirmed that he had suffered bad bruising and grazes.
