SPANISH OUTDOOR TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP (MANCHA REAL - JAEN)
04 April 2005 - Sherco

The good experience gained by the team of Albert Cabestany and Sherco during the recent Indoor Trials Championship of the World has born fruit.

Albert dominated the first round of the Spanish Championship. This is an event that is open to all of the international riders and is the first outdoor test of the year for the riders.

The expected battle between Cabestany and Raga did not materialize as the Sherco rider rode an outstanding first round. Albert finished the first round with only ten points in complete control of his rival; the surprise of this round was Toni Bou who finished in second place five points down. In the second round Albert continued to add to his advantage despite committing a failure in the third section, the same as in the first round. He finished the trial in first place four points in front of Adam Raga. The trial was characterized by very difficult and dangerous sections.

Albert Cabestany: ''The first round was very difficult; the sections were very moist because of all of the rainfall from the previous day. As the day progressed the sun helped to dry them out and the traction improved, I had to use all of my concentration to keep from failing. I committed two lamentable errors in section three both rounds, even with these ten points I was able to finish the trial in first place. This finish has given me a real boost in my confidence. The handling of the new Sherco was even better outdoors than it was indoors and the result today confirms that''.
