SHAND COMPLETES RACE 1 IN NATIONAL SUPERSTOCK OPENER
29 March 2005 - Aim Racing

Les Shand completed race 1 of the Melzeler National Superstock Championship with a comfortable 21st place.

The AIM rider just failed to score any points but was happy to finish the race without any incidents. The race was won by Andy Tinsley with a race time of 18:35.31, Tinsley also claimed the fastest lap time at 48.074 seconds.

Shand commented after the race “I am glad that the race is over, I got a bad start and I lost a lot places going into turn 1. The entire race I was trying as hard as I could to move through the pack, but the lack of track time was evident. I need more track time before Thruxton; I achieved faster lap times the last time we were here so I don’t have an answer. I am very disappointed to come away from Brands Hatch with zero points, it’s not the start I wanted for the championship.”

Jim Moodie also commented on the race result “Les has struggled all weekend, the lack of track time has not helped and we have now taken steps to correct that before Thruxton.”
