The new revolutionary rear tyre for sports touring motorcycles. BT-020 NT (New Technology) is Bridgestone’s latest top rear tyre for sports touring motorcycles.

It is a unique technological tyre, designed and developed to give sport touring drivers new emotions.

By applying Bridgestone’s newly developed HTSPC (High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord) Steel Mono Spiral Belt, the casing of the BT-020 NT has increased compression stiffness, causing less deformation in the contact patch of the tyre.

Tyre shape is less affected by the load and the recovery of the shape is quicker with this new belt construction. That will result in improvements of the various stability performances, such as: entering corner (fall-in), during cornering, loaded condition, and in straight-line, especially at high speed.

A MSB tyre is lighter than a conventional multi cross belt construction, minimises heat generation inside the tyre and gives high shock absorption. This one-piece construction eliminates overlapping of belts, seams, joints, improving durability.

Enhancement of the stiffness of the tread area has resulted in improved grip while the new BT-020 NT also benefits from the latest evolution concerning tread compound.

The new Battlax BT-020 NT profile is designed by 3D-CTDM, Bridgestone’s automated tyre design technology. Totally Supercomputer designed, the larger BT-020 NT crown radius and unique sidewall profile guarantee improved high speed stability and riding comfort, as well as outstanding front-rear harmony.
The leading edge 3D-CTDM program enabled Bridgestone to conduct dynamic, three-dimensional simulations and analysis of BT-020 NT tyre performance in addition to finding optimum solutions at all lean angles.

The new BT-020 NT pattern, characterised by more but shorter grooves, gives increased grip (both on wet and dry) and better stability on straight and high-speed roads. Diagonal grooves ensure better: wear, riding comfort and performance against aquaplaning.
