PRACTICAL SPANISH
29 March 2005 - Harglo-Performance
Factory has introduced a road legal 150cc quad that is aimed at novice riders and those requiring an affordable off-road vehicle capable of carrying out light-duty jobs.
Road legal quads have to comply wuth stringent European regulations and as such are an obvious choice for customers baffled by a massive choice of unfamiliar machines and brands. Factory is a young and dynamic Spanish company, which built its reputation on mini bikes and junior competition motorcycles and has recognized the new trend for quads. A 9bhp 4-stroke motor with a bore & stroke of 56.4 x 57.8mm powers the Tornado, giving a top speed of 45 mph. Transmission is automatic and includes a reverse gear, operated via a lever on the right hand side, by the seat. It features a high quality steel tubular frame, 8” wheels and twin front shock absorbers, which combine to give a reassuring ride, even over rough terrain. The rear hydraulic disc brake is linked to the front drum brakes and can be operated from a lever on the left side of the handlebars or a foot brake on the right side. It is also equipped with lights, indicators and a full dashboard. The Tornado 150 is an attractively priced recreational vehicle that is well suited to exploring the many byways that stretch across the British isles, the majority of which are open to road legal vehicles. Weighing in at a modest 108 Kg, the Tornado 150 can be driven on a full motorcycle licence B1 (A) or full car licence (B). Vehicle excise duty [road tax] is similar to that for a small car. The Factory Tornado 150 Quad is available in red or blue and sells for £1,995*.
