16 March 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
IPSWICH boss John Louis is warning his riders to expect a fierce battle when Belle Vue visit in the first Elite League fixture of the season on Thursday.
He said: ''When you look at the teams around the Elite League, Belle Vue and Poole stand out in my eyes. ''To face Belle Vue in the opening league match of the season is exciting, but tough at the same time.'' SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter is relishing the prospect of facing his former club Poole in the Airtek Challenge over two legs. The first leg is in Dorset tonight with the return at Swindon''s Abbey Stadium tomorrow. Rossiter said: ''It''s great to start our season against Poole because they have dominated the Elite League in recent seasons and this will be a good benchmark for the season ahead.'' SEAN Wilson will race in front of his home fans at Sheffield for the first time in almost a year on Thursday. Tigers face rivals Hull in the second leg of the Yorkshire Cup and Wilson is back after a neck injury sustained last May. The Sheffield skipper said: ''I''ve still got it in me to race hard and I''m looking forward to some good meetings at Sheffield.''
