MCGUINNESS COMPLETES FINAL PRE-SEASON BSB TEST AT BRANDS HATCH
15 March 2005 - Aim Racing

John McGuinness completed his final test session today at Brands Hatch. The AIM rider was happy with the way in which the test went.

“Today was my first time on the Yamaha and I am pleased with the test programme. I was not here to break lap records; I was here to put in some laps and get a feel of what we needed to do to make the bike competitive for the 28th. I just focused on what I needed to do and kept out of the other rider’s way.”

Jim Moodie was also pleased with the days testing “John went out and put in some good lap times. The test programme was broken down into key development phases during the day. John would go out with base settings for the bike, do a good handful of laps, come back into the garage and give us his feedback. We have had some good results from today and we will make the changes needed to improve his performance by the 1st round. One of my main concerns was for John to go out get a good feel for this bike and he has done that.”

“John put in some very respectable lap times of mid 47 seconds on race tires and we know we can find more improvement with the changes we are now making.”

AIM Racing Superstock rider Les Shand was unable to attend the test session; but will be ready for the first race on the 28th March at Brands Hatch.
