ALBERT CABESTANY, WORLD INDOOR TRIALS SUB CHAMPION

Despite the worst finish of the season for Albert Cabestany, he was proclaimed the 2005 World Indoor Trials Sub Champion after the results of the Indoor Trial held in the South American city of Buenos Aires Argentina.

It is mathematically impossible for the third place finisher to overtake the premiere Sherco rider in the remaining rounds.

The trial was unusually difficult and was a surprise to the six riders who participated in this first trial held in this part of the world. Albert started well with a zero in the first section one in which his rivals received fives. Nevertheless in spite of showing sparks of brilliance riding some obstacles that seemed to be impossible the 28 points that he obtained in the first round kept him from advancing to the final. This was only the second time this season that Albert failed to make the final. This result will not keep him from looking forward to the remaining two events of the season, a season that has shown that Sherco and Albert Cabestany are certainly world class competitors by placing second overall in the extremely competitive 2005 World Indoor Trials Championship.

Albert Cabestany: ''This trial has been very difficult. The schedule change did not work in our favor and the sections were not what we normally see. I believe that I have to forget this event and enjoy being Sub Champion of the World and look forward to the rest of the indoor season and the outdoor season that is rapidly approaching.''
