SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 10.3.05
10 March 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
BERWICK are sweating on the fitness of new signing Joachim Kugelmann for their clash with reigning triple champions Hull on Saturday.
The German crashed on his Bandits debut against Sheffield last weekend and has suffered bad bruising. Boss Peter Waite said: ''We are having to take things on a day by day basis, it''s not something we can simply rush. Naturally we are keeping our fingers crossed.'' EDINBURGH have been handed a massive pre-season boost after striking a new deal with club sponsors Fulfilment Factory. The news comes as a big relief to the Armadale outfit who looked likely to be without a major backer. Co-promoter Alex Harkess said: ''We will be working hard along with Graham and Linda Maben to ensure that both sides are happy with the way everything is going.'' EMIL Kramer made a dream start to the season with a maximum performance in Hull''s 53-39 Yorkshire Cup win over Sheffield. Kramer was unstoppable in all his five outings and he received excellent support from Garry Stead who scored 12. Andre Compton was the top Tiger on 10. Hull will now start the second leg at Sheffield''s Owlerton Stadium on March 17 as favourites to lift the silverware.
