JOINING THE JET SET IS NOW MORE AFFORDABLE
24 March 2005 - Peugeot

Peugeot’s Jet Force scooter, which has won acclaim for its ''potent powerplant'', “top notch brakes'' and “class-leading handling”, is now 10% cheaper thanks to a re-design for the 2005 season.

The new Jet Force C-Tech 50 retains the liquid cooled 49.9cc horizontal single cylinder engine but the electronic fuel injection is replaced by a conventinal, and substantially less costly, carburettor. The French company has achieved this without any significant impact on performance or emissions – both crucial factors for consumers and ‘eurocrats’ respectively. The good news is that this does have an impact on the price, so the C-Tech sells for 10% less than its fuel-injected predecessorr.

“Peugeot decided to re-position the Jet Force for a price conscious market,” explains a spokesman for UK distributors 3X. “By combining desirability with affordability the Jet Force will be a sure fire hit and will re-define the sports scooter sector.”

The Jet Force is both technically advanced and highly specified by 50cc scooter standards. Its steel perimetric frame, of similar design to modern sports motorcycles, enhances handling, while the 226mm front and 190mm rear disc brakes give reasuring stopping power. Other features guaranteed to impress today’s demanding consumer are audible indicators, a dashboard equipped with rev counter, fuel gauge & clock and underseat storage, which can be opened by turning the ignition key.

The Jetforce C-Tech sells from £1,799- on the road. This includes a 2-year warranty.
