INNOVATIVE SPINE-HUGGING BACK-PROTECTOR FROM KNOX
24 March 2005 - Planet Knox Ltd

Planet Knox, the British impact protection specialists, have launched their most innovative back protector to date. The Contour, which is ergonomically shaped to hug the spine, sets new standards in terms of comfort, lightness & protection.

The Knox Contour looks different from other back-protectors and that’s because it is. The Contour is the first back-protector to be S-shaped, following the contour of the spine, (hence the name). It weighs just 600g, making it one of the lightest back protectors on the market, yet offers maximum coverage of the back area, including side impact panels.

Generous use of honeycomb polypropylene cells mean that the Contour transmits only 6KN of energy, a very comfortable 30% below the 9kN threshold permitted for level 2 protectors under the new European EN1621-2 back-protector standard. Additional protection is provided by a covering of tear & abrasion resistant Schoeller® Dynatec material down the centre.

Knox have paid great attention to comfort on this flagship product. The inside and waistband are covered with L System fabric, which incorporates Coolmax® for temperature control and Amicor™ antibacterial fibre, which reduces odours from perspiration, and the inside back area is covered with Schoeller® Comfortemp PCM which absorbs excess heat.

The Knox Contour is produced in two sizes; Small, to fit a 450mm torso and Large, to fit a 510mm torso. Measurement details are available from Knox or at your local Knox Premier Centre.

The Knox Contour retails for £99.99 inc. VAT.
