ALBERT CABESTANY AND SHERCO RETURN TO THE PODIUM
20 March 2005 - Sherco

Albert Cabestany and Sherco have returned to the podium, demonstrating once again that he is the only rider who is able to consistently compete head to head with Adam Raga, the current World Champion.

The results speak for themselves these two riders finished the event separated by a mere four points, Doug Lampkin who finished in third place was twenty points back.

The first round sections were not overly difficult and had to be ridden with extreme care as an error would have been non-recoverable. Albert ended up with three points while Raga had one and Lampkin had six, these three riders advanced to the final.

The scene changed dramatically for the final as the organizers revised the sections which forced the riders to give them their very best performance. Again the only riders who were able to rise to the occasion were Raga and Cabestany. A five in section six by Albert gave the overall to Raga.

Albert Cabestany: ''I am very satisfied with this ride, it has removed the bad taste I had in my mouth left from the disaster in Buenos Aires. It is clear that at the moment the battle is between Raga and myself. In the end I attempted to zero section six which was a very complicated section. Instead of the zero that I wanted, I failed it and got a five which gave the win to Raga.''
