WOMEN ONLY MOTORBIKE CHALLENGE GOES GLOBAL! - THE UK SEARCH IS NOW ON FOR PARTICIPANTS
15 March 2005 - The Lavender Trust

Women who’ve been affected by breast cancer are being encouraged to grab their Harley’s, Honda’s and Yamaha’s to take part in the UK leg of the Changing Gears Global Challenge – which runs from London to Edinburgh from 20 – 27 August 2005.

All funds raised from the UK will go towards the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care - which raises money specifically to fund information and support for younger women with breast cancer.

The idea for the global challenge follows the huge success of the Changing Gears ride, which took place in the US last year. The event was created and organised by two motorbike enthusiasts from America and Australia, who have both been affected by breast cancer. This year they are set to turn the event into a global challenge to raise vital funds for breast cancer charities in the UK, US and Australia, and in turn raise global awareness of the needs of younger women living with breast cancer.

Each leg of the challenge requires 20 young women who’ve been affected by breast cancer. The Lavender Trust is now seeking participants to take part in the UK leg of this global challenge, where this challenge kicks off. Further Changing Gears rides take place in the US with a one week ride up the California coastline from Los Angeles to San Francisco 24 September – 1 October, finishing with the final leg of the challenge in Australia from Sydney to Brisbane 23 – 30 October.
