GSX-R1000 LIVES UP TO THE HYPE AT EASTERN CREEK

Australia''s technically-challenging Eastern Creek circuit played host to the World Press Launch of the much-anticipated, all-new 2005 GSX-R1000 last week.

In soaring temperatures, the circuit near Sydney saw journalists from all over the world put twenty years of GSX-R development to the test with the latest GSX-R1000. Suzuki Moto GP ace Kevin Shwantz and three-time Australian Superbike Champion Shawn Giles were on hand for demonstration rides and tests on the new machine.

Almost everything has changed on the 2005 GSX-R1000; an increase in displacement to 999cc, a slipper clutch as standard and 10mm larger diameter front brake discs to mention just a few. The entire machine has been redesigned with concentrating central mass as one of the many key goals. The result, claims Suzuki, is the perfect performance machine.
