BERWICK promoter Peter Waite was delighted by his new-look team''s display in their 55-40 Premier Trophy win over Sheffield.
Bandits debutant Chris Schramm piled up 14 (paid 16) in a meeting which saw the home side take maximum points from the first four races. Waite said: ''To get the match on was reward enough but to beat Sheffield comprehensively was a superb bonus to the club.'' BELLE VUE promoter Ian Thomas is predicting some hard-fought racing in the club''s opening meeting of the season on Monday. The Peter Craven Memorial Trophy features a strong line-up of riders alongside all eight members of the Aces'' 2005 squad. Thomas said: ''I''ve put together a field of riders who will give our lads a good work-out and provide some top racing for the fans.''
