SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 4.3.05
04 March 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

RYE HOUSE promoter Len Silver believes talented youngster Daniel King could be the key to success this season.

King will start the season at reserve in the opening challenge with King''s Lynn at Hoddesdon on Saturday. Silver said: ''Daniel King in the reserve berth could be a real matchwinner for us. He put in more laps than anyone else at our practice session during the week.''

BERWICK boss Peter Waite is predicting a baptism of fire for his side in their opening meeting with Sheffield on Saturday. He said: ''We know they have a good record around our place and it''s going to be a terrific contest. ''Despite the loss of Adam Pietraszko through illness, I still feel we have enough strength to get off to a winning start which is important.''

CHRIS Harris will be attempting to repeat his New Year Classic triumph when Newport stage the Prince of Wales Trophy on Sunday. But Harris will face stiff competition from fellow Elite League riders David Howe and Niels-Kristian Iversen as well as the Newport top six and other top Premier League stars. Newport promoter Tim Stone said: ''This should be an excellent start to the season with a great line-up.''
