SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 3.3.05

IPSWICH have completed their line-up by signing Karol Baran, who will become the third Pole in the Witches'' team.

The Foxhall outfit had been hoping to include Jesper B Jensen but have now moved in for Baran, who impressed in their 16-lapper meeting last season. Director Magda Louis said: ''Karol has become our asset and we will be looking for all of our four youngsters to progress.''

NEWPORT have named Australian youngster Karlis Ezergailis as their No.7 for the new Premier League campaign. Ezergailis made a major impression last year when riding for Newport''s Conference outfit, the Mavericks, and now gets his chance at the higher level. Promoter Tim Stone said: ''Karlis is up for it and is as keen as mustard. There is no pressure on him because the other six team members should all score well.''
