ALBERT CABESTANY AND SHERCO ARE ON THE INDOOR WORLD TRIALS CHAMPIONSHIP PODIUM AGAIN.
06 March 2005 - Sherco

Albert Cabestany has had a very good week of competition, he prevailed in the Indoor of Bolzano on Thursday and two days later secured second place in the World Indoor Championship event which was held in the Italian city of Livorno.

In the alpine city of Bolzano, Albert and his Sherco defeated the present leader of the World Indoor, Adam Raga, after an exciting race that ended with only a single point separating the two riders. Two days later, on Saturday night he competed in the ninth round of the World Indoor Championship which was held in the Mediterranean coastal heat of Livorno.

Albert did not have any problem classifying for the final, he finished the first round with only nine points and was very confident that he could improve on that score.
But for the final round, the organizers surprised the riders; they reversed the sections and made them much more difficult. The three riders to make the final were Albert, Raga and Fujinami.

They all fived the first two sections, in the third section Raga took a three point advantage over the other two riders, Albert started to make a comeback in the next two sections however in section six he punctured a tire which cost him a five that would ultimately cost him the outright victory. Albert finished in second place which was the eight podium of the season for the Sherco rider.

Albert Cabestany: ''After the victories in Lisbon and Bolzano my confidence was very high and I was expecting a victory here in Livorno but it was not to be. The race was a little strange and I committed some errors that cost me the victory although it was still very close. I hope to win again in the remaining three events that make up the championship.''
