SPEEDWAY NEWS 27.2.05
27 February 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SHEFFIELD promoter Neil Machin believes there will be little home track advantage for Berwick when his team travel to Shielfield Park next Saturday.

The two teams clash in the first official match of the 2005 season with Premier Trophy points at stake. Machin said: ''Maybe it will be a level playing field as I can''t see them having any great advantage on the night in terms of track expertise.''

BELLE VUE''S Andy Smith has highlighted Jason Lyons as the key man in the Aces'' team this season. Lyons returns to the club this year eager to bounce back in the Elite League after a disappointing spell with Poole, and the Aces appear to have strength in depth. Smith said: ''We''ve got good solid riders all the way through the line-up and Jason is much better than his average.''
