KRISTIAN Lund has agreed a new deal to stay with Newport for a second successive season.
The Dane, who won the Telford indoor ice event last weekend, wasted no time in thrashing out a deal with Wasps chief Tim Stone. Stone said: ''It''s great to have Kristian back and he''ll probably have had a boost for the start of the season after his winning Telford performance.'' LONG EATON could be back on track after almost a decade following the sale of their former Station Road home. Former Invaders commercial boss John Bailey said: ''There are plans in place to use half the site for a speedway stadium and the other half for development. ''It''s all subject to planning approval but local councillors have said there is nothing in the plans to worry them too much.'' READING have pulled off the signing of talented Czech Republic youngster Zdenek Simota. He joins Danny Bird, Matej Zagar, Andrew Appleton and Chris Mills as a confirmed starter for the ambitious Racers. Co-promoter Chris Shears said: ''We know we''ve been slow in naming riders, but hopefully we have got it right with solid support for the top three. The delay was simply down to the averages.''
