‘A STREET, A TRACK, AN OPEN ROAD’ – INDUSTRY LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE DV
13 February 2005 - Motor Cycle Industry Association Ltd

An eclectic cast feature in ‘A Street, A Track, An Open Road’ which is due to be launched on 17th February to provide an entertaining and educational approach to rider development.

The Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI)has ripped up the rule book in its production of a new DVD designed to get riders thinking about their own skills and experiences. Joose TV, who have a wealth of bike and motoring film based experience were selected to help the Association create a dynamic and inspiring product. They have succeeded.

MCI has produced the DVD in a documentary format and features experienced riders mentoring each other to try and meet three special challenges.
‘A Street, A Track, An Open Road’, is not a training video. It is a humorous, real life documentary about life on two wheels.

Three riders committed over a week of their lives to live together, to take part in this film and undertake three different challenges. Viewers will be inspired by the skills of the riders including World Super Bike rider Chris Walker and Bob McMillan former Head of Honda UK. Suzi Perry also features and narrates the film.
Each rider mentors the other two in their specialist field, to help them develop specific skills and prepare them to meet an unknown challenge. Three tests were carefully set up; ‘A Day in the Life’, ‘Track Trial’ and ‘Spot the Mistakes’.

A panel of three expert judges including James Toseland, current WSB champion were on hand to observe our riders and judge both their riding and mentoring ability to find the top rider.

Video diaries, dramatic footage, tips from experts, humour, laughs and loads of bike action in three different locations create a DVD which is compelling, thought provoking and fun.

Karen Cooke, MCI’s Head of Safety and Project Manager said, “The MCI has given a 110 percent to this project to ensure huge rider appeal. The DVD is not an instruction video or a typical training product. It is quality entertainment that intends to get people thinking about their own riding abilities and experiences.”
Craig Carey-Clinch MCI Director of Public Affairs said, “The MCI is committed to reducing casualties and seeks to encourage riders to aspire to excellence in their own riding. The DVD should motivate riders and after watching it I expect they will pass it on to their friends. A Street, A Track, An Open Road will grab the attention
of non-riders too and anyone with a sense of humour will want to watch it again.”

A brand new website www.stordvd.com an accompanying the DVD has been created too. The websitewill be launched on 17th February and compliments the DVD with interviews, clips and much more.
