BREMBO BECOMES A HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTOR COMPANY SUPPLIER

The supply of the braking system for the 2006 VRSCR Street Rod is a milestone in the North America development for Brembo.

Harley-Davidson present s today in Texas a new motorcycle for the VRSC Platform, the 2006 VRSCR Street Rod, to its dealers at its annual Winter Dealer Meeting. The new braking system for this motorcycle is being produced for Harley-Davidson by Brembo in Italy. The Street Rod, which is the new version of the VRSC Platform, is already in production. It represents the first motorcycle
of this legendary American bike manufacturer with a Brembo sourced braking system.

With this new supplier agreement, Brembo will strengthen its position in the American market. Brembo is already present in this market as a manufacturer of the Buell patented aluminium swingarm to Buell Motorcycle Co., which is a company specialized in sport motorcycles and a Harley-Davidson subsidiary. Brembo also supplies components to other manufacturers of recreational vehicles in North America and Canada.

The supply is made up of a complete braking system: 2 fixed front calipers with 4 pistons, 1 front and rear master cylinders, the brake pedal, a rear fixed caliper with 4 pistons and the front and rear brake lines.

Paolo Magri, head of the Motorcycle Business Unit at Brembo comments this achievement: “it was a challenging task for my team, we were really excited with the idea to become suppliers to this American icon.
