OVE Fundin, five times winner of the World title, will join a glittering Night of the Champions when Belle Vue open a new era on March 7.
The Swede is one of five riders to have won the championship while riding for the Aces, along with Ivan Mauger, Peter Collins, current holder Jason Crump, and the late Peter Craven. Fundin and Collins will attend the Craven Memorial Trophy meeting. STOKE have been handed a massive pre-season boost with the news that their main team sponsors have agreed a new deal with the club. Easy Rider of Stafford will stay on board for a fifth successive season. Potters boss Dave Tattum said: ''Cyril Chell has proven to be a first class backer of the club, not just financially but also as someone who has lots of positive thoughts and ideas.'' NEWCASTLE have agreed a new deal with their Brough Park landlords William Hill until the end of the 2007 season. Diamonds co-promoter Darryl Illingworth is delighted with the news after a troubled time last year. He said: ''Fans who come along to our opening night''s entertainment on March 13 will see first hand the huge improvements in Brough''s internal facilities. William Hill have invested heavily in the bars and restaurant.''
