SPEEDWAY NEWS 31.1.05
31 January 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

COVENTRY are waiting to hold talks with Oxford to settle the terms of Billy Hamill''s move to Cowley for next season.

''We have been trying to get in touch with Nigel Wagstaff (Oxford promoter) for weeks but he won''t return our calls,'' said Coventry co-promoter Jeremy Heaver about the switch. ''We look forward to him calling us now to discuss the transfer fee for Billy Hamill.''

PETERBOROUGH owner Mick Horton has sent a warning to rival Elite League clubs. Horton believes it would take a fool to write his team off after making several new signings. He said: ''We could be the surprise package. I really believe we are the dark horses because not a lot is expected of us, yet I know we''ve got riders who are capable of going away and causing upsets.''
