LOCK-2-LOCK AT MCN SHOW
30 January 2005 - EMAP Automotive
The new Lock-2-Lock scheme, which aims to cut motorcycle thefts, was officially launched on Saturday January 29 at the MCN London Motorcycle Show.
As part of the launch, World Superbike champion James Toseland made a personal appearance on the BMF stand, to sign autgraphs, pose for photos, and hand over a cheque to the BMF Foundation on behalf of the Lock-2-Lock directors Micke Sladden and Ian porter who are giving some of the money accrued from the sales of Lock-2-Lock membership packs. The L2L scheme works on a simple theory. If a bike is displaying an L2L sticker, that gives other members permission to lock their bike chain or shackle lock through the lock of the other bike, mulitplying the security of both machines. You''ll be able to chat to someone from the scheme on the BMF stand (W19) all week, but James Toseland only appeared between 2pm-3pm on the opening day, Saturday, January 29.
