SPEEDWAY NEWS - 25.1.05
25 January 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

REIGNING Elite League champions Poole have finalised their team plans with the additions of Toni Svab and Edward Kennett.

Svab will be the club''s number eight to cover for injuries and Kennett will share a reserve position with Ricky Ashworth throughout the season. Pirates co-promoter Matt Ford said: ''The signings certainly help to strengthen our tail end and they also add a great blend of youth and experience.''

OXFORD have wasted no time in making Danish international Niels Kristian Iversen their first signing for next season. Iversen is widely tipped to become a future Grand Prix star and Silver Machine boss Nigel Wagstaff is delighted to get his man. He said: ''Everything will be right for the lad with backing from our good friends at Monarch and he will prove to be a great signing.''

ALAN Mogridge has been handed a testimonial and will stage a meeting at Stoke during the summer. The Potters favourite said: ''I''m trying to get a date sometime in mid season but it all depends on the fixture list at Loomer Road. ''I''ve only just heard about it so there is a lot to organise. I''ll probably get a committee together to help out and pool our ideas.''

NEWPORT boss Tim Stone will unveil a significant signing for the new season later this week after agreeing terms with a key rider. He said: ''I''ve been talking to this one particular rider for a few weeks now and there has never really been a problem. ''It''s just been a case of getting it all finalised and we''re almost there. I firmly believe our fans will approve.''
