COVENTRY joint-boss Peter Oakes is backing 17-year-old Dane Morten Risager to continue his rapid progress with the Bees this season.
Oakes said: ''I think we''re all expecting an awful lot which is probably a little unfair on the lad, but he had a fabulous season last year. ''I''m absolutely certain that he will show even more improvement because he is such an exceptional talent for his age.'' PETERBOROUGH owner Mick Horton insists his revamped Panthers squad has what it takes to reach the play-offs this year. Horton is aiming for a top four spot and he is pleased with his winter efforts. He said: ''I believe the side we''ve got this year is stronger in depth than last year. I think we''ve got one of, if not the best reserve riders in the League in Henning Bager.'' OXFORD are set to announce their first signing for the new season after agreeing a deal with a mystery rider. The Silver Machine are pressing ahead with team plans after finally agreeing terms with their stadium landlords for a new lease. Promoter Nigel Wagstaff said: ''We''ve set the ball rolling and we now want to put the team together as quickly as we possibly can.''
