IPSWICH have been handed a pre-season boost with the news that their main club sponsors have agreed an new deal for 2005.
The Witches will again be supported by the Evening Star for a seventh successive season. Rider - manager Chris Louis said: ''We are in the process of building a team that we think will be the best and we welcome onboard again the Evening Star.'' NEWCASTLE have joined Swindon in pulling the plug on their Conference League team next season. The club claim they are unhappy with a lack of youth development in the third tier of the sport. Co-promoter George English said: ''The league should be for the exclusive development of new talent, with no place for old hands which is the sad way the league has gone over the years.'' WORKINGTON have completed the signings of Tony Dart and Scott Courtney to share one of their reserve positions. Dart immediately becomes a Comets asset and he will start the season with Courtney expected to challenge him for his place. Boss Graham Drury said: ''Both riders are very enthusiastic and I''m looking forward to some competition for places in such a key position within the team structure.''
