OXFORD have finally agreed a new lease with their Cowley landlords to stage Elite League racing on Thursdays.
The club have lost their traditional Friday racenight as the GRA are staging greyhound racing on that night. Silver Machine boss Nigel Wagstaff said: ''It''s with great relief that we now have an agreement and we can now turn our attentions towards building what I hope will be a powerful team.'' EASTBOURNE have finalised their Elite League squad with the additions of Steen Jensen and Adam Allott. The duo will share one of the reserve positions and both are expected to join Premier League clubs for more regular action. Eagles boss Jon Cook said: ''Both riders are young and enthusiastic, very keen to do well, and we honestly feel we have got the balance of the team just about right.'' SOMERSET have appointed Jo Lawson as their new co-promoter to assist Pete Toogood. Toogood has been looking for help as he faces a hectic schedule in his first season as British Speedway chairman. Miss Lawson, who is Toogood''s step-daughter, said: ''This is a very exciting opportunity for me and I''m looking forward to the challenge. I''m there to support Pete whenever I can during what will be a busy year.'' FORMER Wimbledon chairman David Croucher has joined the Isle of Wight''s management team. Croucher, the son of former Southampton rider and manager Bert, will share the team manager''s duties with co-promoters Dave Pavitt and Martin Newnham, mainly taking over the reins at the away meetings. He said: ''My dad captained and managed Southampton so joining the Isle of Wight is a bit like coming home for me.'' RYE House will again host the British Under-21 Championship final in 2005. The Premier League track, who staged the meeting in 2004, have announced that they have provisionally put the event into the calendar for Saturday, April 30 with a 7 pm start. Promoter Len Silver said: ''It should be a terrific field and we are delighted to again be hosting the Under-21 final at Hoddesdon.''
