NEW Eastbourne signing Davey Watt believes the time is right for him to make the step up into the Elite League.
Watt will start the season at reserve but he is keen to establish himself in the main body of the team. He said: ''With the right people around me, like I have with the Eastbourne team, I think I will be able to do something major now.'' EASTBOURNE are set to complete their team plans with the club currently in talks with two riders. Co-promoter Jon Cook said: ''By Thursday we should have the full team in position by filling the number seven spot. ''I''m talking to two riders and I''ve been spending a lot of time working on the team and it will be a relief to get everything finalised by the end of the week.'' SOMERSET are to appoint a new co-promoter following Pete Toogood''s buyout of the club. Toogood, who is preparing for his first season as British Speedway chairman, wants someone to lift the pressure on his demanding schedule. He said: ''I know the person I want and we are going through the formalities of interviewing with the management committee. I need help in what is going to be a busy year.''
