EASTBOURNE boss Jon Cook is close to finalising deals with two riders to add to his squad for next season.
Cook has held several meetings this week to try and advance his team building. He said: ''I realise we''re a little behind most other clubs but I''m in a position to reveal the identity of two signings which will bring us up to speed with the rest.'' NEWPORT promoter Tim Stone feels that his signing of Michael Coles will give the Wasps team a massive boost this year. Stone said: ''Michael is a class act, he rides Newport really well and he is looking forward to a new challenge here. ''I''m really grateful that we''ve got a rider with so much experience who will ride every sort of track - he just gets on with it.'' EXETER director Mike Spearpoint has pinpointed away wins as the key to the club''s bid for Premier League silverware next season. The Falcons have arranged private practice sessions for their riders both at home and on other tracks. Spearpoint said: ''We have not won a Premier League match away from the County Ground since 2001 and that has got to change. Our new signings should be able to help that.''
