OXFORD boss Nigel Wagstaff remains hopeful that a new lease agreement can be reached with his stadium landlords in the near future.
The Silver Machine have been forced to move off their regular Friday racenight and Wagstaff has submitted a new proposal. He said: ''I can confirm that we have heard back from the GRA and I feel confident our talks will result in a new agreement fairly soon.'' ISLE OF WIGHT chief Dave Pavitt claims he has a signed contract from Australian prospect Troy Batchelor - despite King''s Lynn saying they have signed him! The Norfolk club made their announcement over the festive spell and Pavitt has taken the matter up with the sport''s authorities. He said: ''It''s all well and good Buster Chapman making such an announcement when I have a signed and protected contract from Troy.'' WORKINGTON are on the lookout for new team sponsors - after current backers Thomas Armstrong told the club they would not be renewing their deal. New Comets boss Graham Drury said: ''It''s disappointing but I want to offer my thanks on behalf of the club for their backing last season. ''We now have an opportunity for a company to put their name to one of the top clubs in the country.''
